Very Ferry Pier
Date: 21st and 22nd June 2014 (Saturday and Sunday)
Time: 12pm to 6pm
Venue: Wanchai Ferry Pier (East Wing)
Hub: Wan Chai

Following the success of the inaugural Very Hong Kong community led events held in public spaces across the city in mid December 2013, the Very Hong Kong Foundation announces their next creative community event to be held at Wanchai Ferry Pier. The event will take place as a celebration of a public space which is an inherent part of the urban infrastructure of Hong Kong.

The Very Hong Kong event at Wanchai Ferry Pier, ‘Very Ferry Pier’, provides an opportunity for local artists, musicians and the community of Hong Kong to express their creativity and talent through re-imagining a public space which is uniquely Hong Kong. The event will be a place for sharing ideas and redefining an otherwise unused public space through a series of events, installations and activities. The aim of the ‘Very Ferry Pier’ event is to encourage us to think beyond the pier as just a transportation node, Wanchai Ferry Pier has an inherent association with the city and neighborhood of Wanchai contributing to the sustainability of the City.

A diverse selection of collaborative event programmes will take place over the 2 days. Very Hong Kong will transform passionate ideas into reality by developing an event tailored by the community, for the community. Wanchai Ferry Pier will be transformed into a creative hub packed with community based events for everyone - from “Duckyland” creative LEGO workshop, urban sketches, live street music performances, an enormous ‘Under The Sea’ communal wall drawing, pop up short film screenings, experimental public art performances, Chinese ink painting and a host of creative workshops.
