The main theme of our project is “The secret of happiness is to admire without desiring.”

Under consumerism, Hong Kong people usually feel great pressure and emptiness. We want to raise the awareness of consumerism to the Hong Kong people and lead them to reflect on this phenomenon. Is everything they consume truly what they need? What do they achieve by consuming? We want the participants to understand the affect of consumerism on a deeper level.

We will cover dummies in  slips of paper with different brand names written on them. We will then invite people to tear the slips of paper off. After all the paper has been removed, the word underneath is “EMPTINESS”, which is the message that we hid.

We hope people will think more before they buy.
